Formerly a Knights Templar manor, this historic riverside property is now an elegant hotel set on the banks of the River Thames. Dating back to the Middle Ages, it sits within 30 acres of landscaped gardens, just minutes from central Oxford. French-inspired dining is available at Napier’s Restaurant.

STARTER
Scallops

The scallops were perfectly cooked, soft and great flavours of pea and hint of Chorizo inside the scallops...worth the extra cost as a treat.

MAIN COURSE
Striploin Steak

 

First time I have eaten striploin.....in between sirloin and rib eye steak....but less fat and very tender.
Nicely served sliced and each cut perfectly cooked medium rare.

DESSERT
Blackcurrant Cheesecake

Really light....perfectly soft and delicious. Home made similar to a Polish desert. Never had anything so light for a cheesecake. Must have desert....

All in all amazing for hotel food!

In the Jetty restaurant you'll find yourself dining right on the edge of Mudeford Quay at Christchurch Harbour.

Jetty bites are a delicious choice of tasty octopus and salmon parcels... served beautifully and a must eat. Every bite bursting with flavours.

Cheese souffle is really cheesy and melts in your mouth. Served very hot and surprisingly light... delicious starter & filling.

The Jetty Style Fish & Chips was a big serving with good quality ingredients. Batter could have been lighter and crispier.

The Martini Sabayon was a real treat and nutty full of chocolate juice,  refreshing and light. A Must have treat!

With the sea lapping at the jetty and bird song all around, the restaurant offers a lot of fun, good service and great ambience to relax with some fine wines and beautiful views of the harbour early evening.

It has ample on-site parking, as well as dedicated function and dining rooms. Additionally, you'll find a spacious beer garden, ideal for enjoying al fresco dining during the summer months.

Starter

Scallops with Pea Puree, Divinely cooked to perfection and full of flavour served with pancetta.
Faultless starter.

Main Course

Rack of ribs with red wine sauce with crispy dauphinoise. Nice and pink and tender. Sweet carrots and lovely mushy peas to compliment.
Must have dish!

Dessert

Crème caramel with home made short breads - just melted in your mouth and bursting with flavours. Crispy topping and creamy. Amazing.

Tucked away on 14 acres of breathtaking grounds and dating all the way back to 1766, The Spa Hotel was once a lavish country mansion and has since become a fixture in Tunbridge Wells' rich history.

This is my review of a meal at the the Orangery Restaurant.

For starters: Focaccia and garlic bread.

The focaccia bread was cooked with olives inside to give bursting flavour on bite and served warm with garlic bread ... a clever idea!

The pork tastes sticky with housin sauce, like smokey bacon bites, with a light pastry casing and pineapple salsa on side to offset the sticky tastes of pork.

Great combination and bursting with flavour in every bite ... delicious in every way.

Like a char sui bao but much more flavours and lighter.

Lamb cooked medium rare ... the pistachio gnocchi is delicious and a lighter alternative to potatoes ... full of flavours.

With deep red wine jus.
Overall - 8/10 ... as could be warmer and softer meat texture.

Lime cheesecake
Light and fluffy texture with a hint of lime. The honey combe gives a sweet bite.

This is my review of a meal at the The View - Privilege Restaurant & Lounge.

For starters: Salmon and Octopus Tempura.

The salmon was nicely presented and served with a beetroot pickle which was unusual. Soft and tasty.
The Octopus was a chewy and over cooked. Octopus needs to be soft to enjoy fully and nibble on the tentacles...
However, lovely ambience and great service.

..deep red and bursting with cherries with some notes of chocolate...

MAINS

The Moroccan lamb chops were very soft and full of tagine flavours served with couscous...tasty!

Sirloin steak was under cooked and had to be sent back....let's see when it returns.

Much better and medium as ordered.
Tasted very soft...although a Sirloin, it was as soft as a Fillet. Cooked perfectly and plentiful. Just make sure you order how you like a steak.
Great with the Cabinet Savignon.
As good as a Steak house.

Miso covered cod infused with Thai essences.
This dish is amazing....
cooked to perfection and melts in your mouth. Sauce had an essence of Thai added to enhance the taste.

Cream caramel with ginger ice cream. Sensational....if you like ginger you will adore this desert...unusual and with a kick.
